The Malaysia Numismatic Society (MNS) was setup with the following objectives 

​

• To promote the interest and the highest possible standards in the study and knowledge of coins, banknotes, medals, and other matters of numismatic interest through our programs and events
   

• To arrange the exchange or sale of material of numismatic interest by organizing lectures, seminars, symposia or auctions.
   

• To display numismatic materials at public or private exhibitions and by other similar means to foster interest in numismatic.
   

• To develop quality control programs for grading and authentication procedures in numismatic and numismatic related fields
   

• To hold auctions within the society or to host public auction for the benefit of members and/or Society 
   

• To form and establish a foundation resulting from donations or charity for achieving the objectives of the society.
   

• To recognize and encourage members with fellowship and awards.
