Your privacy is very important to the Malaysia Numismatic Society (MNS). Accordingly, the MNS has developed this Policy in order for you to understand how we collect, use, communicate and disclose and make use of personal information. The following outlines our privacy policy.

 

• The MNS maintains personal information collected for maintaining relationship with members and as required by law. Personal information is collected by lawful and fair means with the knowledge and consent of the member or website visitor.

• The MNS collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. The MNS’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use its websites. From time to time, the MNS may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

• The MNS also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on mnsmalaysia.org blogs and forums. The MNS only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.

• Certain visitors to the MNS’s websites choose to interact with the MNS in ways that require the MNS to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that the MNS gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for an account at mnsmalaysia.org provide a name, username and email address. Those who engage in transactions with the MNS – by purchasing a membership, for example – are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, the MNS collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfil the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with the MNS. The MNS does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

• The MNS may collect statistics about the behaviour of visitors to its websites. For instance, the MNS may monitor the most popular blog posts on mnsmalaysia.org. The MNS may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, the MNS does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

• The MNS shall protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

• The MNS shall make readily available to MNS members information about our policies and practices relating to the management of personal information.

• The MNS discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, that need to know that information in order to process it on the MNS’s behalf or to provide services available at the MNS’s websites. The MNS will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. If you are a registered user of an MNS website and have supplied your email address, the MNS may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, to deliver announcements or special offers from official MNS partners, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with the MNS and our products. We primarily use our various blogs to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. The MNS takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

• The MNS shall disclose personal information, potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to law enforcement only when required to do so by lawfully obtained and executed court order.

The MNS is committed to conducting association business in accordance with these principles, MNS Bylaws and the MNS Code of Ethics in order to ensure that the confidentiality of personal information is protected and maintained.
